As of March 1, 2024, our Barcode functionality will be deactivated. This was an outdated tool for uploading paper invoices into the Spend Cloud. When you used this functionality in the past, the entry number series does not start at 1 by default. Because we no longer support the functionality of the barcodes, the voucher numbers will start at 1 from 2025.
Why didn't entry numbers start at 1 by default?
This is because the printed barcodes used predefined entry numbers starting at 1. The invoices that arrived via another method (such as the Spend Cloud Mail Box) were then given a entry number starting at where the barcode series ends.
For example:
The entry numbers 24.01.0001 to 24.01.5000 were reserved for invoices on which a barcode was pasted and 24.01.5001 to 24.01.9999 was used for all other invoices.
An additional advantage of this change is that there is now more room for processing invoices. This way you are less likely to run into the limit of invoices, because the full range from 24.01.0001 to 24.01.9999 can be used.
What is expected of me now?
This message is purely informative and no action is required. If an invoice for 2025 has already been received, please let us know. We can correct this, so that the series can still start at 1. If there is another reason that your entry numbers does not start with 1, please let us know via
