From the 'Charge' menu, you can fund your passbooks. You will also find all planned charge tasks here. This menu can be accessed under Cash & Card / Charge if it has been added to your permissions.
At the top of the 'Charge' menu, you'll see a green button labeled 'Charge now'. This button is used when you want to immediately add more balance to a passbook. It's mandatory to provide a description here. After clicking 'Save', the balance will be updated immediately. There's no delay.
The 'Schedule charge task' button allows you to create a scheduled (recurring) charge. For instance, you can automatically increase the balance of a passbook by €20.00 every upcoming Friday or every Friday.
There might be instances where you want to decrease the balance of a passbook. This is useful when you want to close a passbook or if you've made a one-time increase, like for a school trip, but not the entire amount was used. To decrease the balance, click the 'Charge now' button and place a minus sign in front of the amount you want to deduct. Make sure there are no spaces before or after the minus sign.
History of charge tasks viewing
By clicking the 'History' button, you can view the history of all your charge tasks. Clicking on the row of a charge task allows you to see more details.
It's important to note that the balance of passbooks is not an actual monetary balance. We refer to it as a 'balance', but officially, it's a spending limit. This means that when you load or reduce a balance, there's no actual movement of funds. No money is transferred from one account to another. You're simply adjusting the spending capacity of the card(s) linked to the passbook, increasing or decreasing the available funds for spending. For example, it's not necessary to set the balance of a passbook to 0 Euros before putting it in a passive state, although you can do so if desired.
Charging via file upload
The following information is only relevant for customers who do not use Spend Cloud Cards or bunq cards, or only partially use them.
In the 'Charge via File Upload' menu section, you have the option to generate a file for loading prepaid cards. You can then import this file into your card application. The overview displays all created charge tasks. On the right side of each row, you'll find various options related to the charge task.
Clicking the 'Execute Tasks' button generates a file for all selected tasks. Charge tasks based on balance cannot be selected in this overview; they are shown with a gray square. To select these tasks, click 'Execute Tasks' first, and then you can select the desired tasks in the subsequent view.
Under 'Batch Files', you'll find a list of all generated files. You can import these files into your card application to load the cards. You can download the file by clicking on the button at the right side of the row. Additionally, at the three dots, you have the option to reverse the transaction.
Using the 'Add' button at the top of the overview, you can create a new charge task per book. Eventually, you can convert this task into a file and import it into your card application. You can specify if the card needs a one-time load, repeating load, or based on balance. With 'Repeating', a fixed amount is loaded daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly. With 'Balance', the card is loaded only if the balance reaches a minimum amount. The charge tasks created here are not executed automatically. Even if you choose, for example, a repeating task every week, you must import a new file every week. This only queues the charge task in the overview.
Clicking the 'History' button above the charging overview allows you to see the history of all charge tasks. Clicking on the row of a charge task allows you to view the history of the charge task itself.
