The Card Verification Code (CVC) is used to verify a Spend Cloud Card or a bunq Mastercard. When using your Spend Cloud Card or bunq Mastercard for an online payment, you may be asked for the CVC code. This adds an extra layer of security and helps prevent misuse and fraud. Other terms for the CVC code include Card Security Code (CSC) or Card Verification Value (CVV).

When making in-store payments with the card, you do not need the CVC code because you use your PIN for transactions. The CVC code is used only when you are not physically present, such as in an online purchase.
CVC Code for Spend Cloud Card
For
Spend Cloud Cards (identified by the blue color), you can find the CVC code on the back of the card. The code consists of three digits. You can also view the CVC code via the Spend Cloud app. Open the app, click on your card on the dashboard, then click on 'view card information'.
CVC Code for bunq Mastercard
For bunq Mastercards (identified by the rainbow colors), you won't find the CVC code on the card itself. You can view it in the Spend Cloud (either on the computer or in the app). On the computer, navigate to Cash & Card / Cards. Click on the three dots in the row of the relevant Mastercard and choose 'Generate CVC'. The generated CVC code remains valid until 'Generate CVC' is clicked again.
In the app, find the CVC code by clicking on a card on the dashboard. If you have access to multiple cards, select the Mastercard you want to view. You will then see a purple button with 'Card Details.' Under the 'Verification Code' heading, the CVC code is displayed encrypted. Click on the eye icon on the right to make the code visible.
