When working with Spend Cloud Cards, a balance account is set up. The money spent using Spend Cloud Cards is deducted from this balance account.
In Spend Cloud, you can view the current balance in the bankbook linked to the balance account. This operates in real-time and is always up-to-date. Additionally, it's the only place where you can find the balance. To ensure that cards can continue to be used, it's important to always maintain sufficient balance in the account.
Transferring money to the balance account
To deposit money into the balance account, you need to make a bank transfer to account number NL34ADYB2017500012, payable to Adyen.
Please note! During the implementation of the Spend Cloud Cards, the account number of your main bank (such as ABN Amro or Rabobank) was provided to the implementation consultant. It's crucial to only transfer money from that account. Based on that account, the money will be added to your balance account.
You can view your linked bank account via the menu Application management / Cash & Card / Balance accounts. Click on the 'view verification' button to see your linked bank account. You can also update your linked bank account here.
You might receive a notification during the transfer that the name cannot be verified. You can disregard this message. It's because Adyen is not a bank and thus not included in the national verification system to cross-check IBAN with names.
Helpful notification to ensure sufficient balance remains available
In the settings of a bank book in the Spend Cloud, you can set up a notification when the balance of the bunq or balance account drops below a certain threshold. This helps prevent situations where no further spending can occur due to insufficient funds.
Enter the email address of the person or department that should receive the notification. Use a comma as a separator if the notification should be sent to multiple email addresses.
The balance account is managed by our partner, Adyen. Adyen provides a payment platform, and the balance account doesn't have an IBAN. Unlike a bank, you won't receive annual statements. All relevant details can be found in Spend Cloud under the
Cash & Card / Archive menu. If you have any questions about this, feel free to contact our Support department (for application administrators only).
