With Spend Cloud Cards, you can pay using the credit card functionality in an online store. This is easy, fast, and completely safe. You often see a Mastercard logo in online stores, indicating that it is possible to pay with a Spend Cloud Card.
More information for users on how to easily pay with a Spend Cloud Card can be found in this article.
iDEAL payments are not possible with a Spend Cloud Card, but fortunately, this is not necessary with the above option. In almost all online stores that offer iDEAL, you can also pay via the Mastercard functionality.
In exceptional cases, would you still like to make payments using iDEAL?
Starting from February 2023, you can combine iDEAL payments through your bunq account with Spend Cloud Cards. This allows you to create card statements with only Spend Cloud Cards and still make iDEAL payments from the card statement, debiting the card statement balance. This way, you combine the best of both worlds. This functionality is only supported for customers with an active business bunq account with access to the bunq app.
How do I activate iDEAL payments?
I have a business bunq account, access to the bunq app, and Spend Cloud Cards
If you have a business bunq account, simply choose a bunq account in Spend Cloud when setting up the card statement. The option to make online payments with a Spend Cloud Card can be turned on or off in real-time at any time. To turn it off, leave the field for choosing an account blank.
Activate this functionality via Cash & Card / Books.
I have only a business bunq account and access to the bunq app
Since it is possible to make iDEAL payments with Spend Cloud Cards through your bunq account, you can gradually replace bunq cards with Spend Cloud Cards. If you are interested, contact your Account Manager to initiate this process.
I have a business bunq account but no access to the bunq app
Identify within your organization who opened the bunq account in the past. It is usually a board member, authorized person, or director in collaboration with someone from the financial administration. They should be able to assist you. If logging in via the bunq app is not possible, contact support@bunq.com. Our support department cannot provide assistance with bunq accounts as Visma | ProActive does not have access to bunq accounts.
I only have Spend Cloud Cards
This functionality is supported only for customers with an active business bunq account. You can only use this functionality if you are onboarded with bunq. If you don't have a business bunq account, we advise against using the 'pay with iDEAL' functionality. Online (Mastercard) payments are still possible with Spend Cloud Cards and provide a good alternative to iDEAL payments.
If you still want to use 'pay with iDEAL,' you need to onboard with bunq first. Please note that bunq may require additional authorization documentation, resulting in a longer account opening process.
