Paying with Google Pay in combination with a Spend Cloud Card
When you have an Android phone and our Spend Cloud App, it is possible to add a Spend Cloud Card to the wallet on your phone. This way, you can pay in-store using your digital wallet instead of the physical card. This works through Google Pay. If the webshop supports it and it is allowed for your card, you can also pay online via Google Pay. In this article, we explain how to add the card to your device and answer the most frequently asked questions.
Do you own an Apple device? Click here for the instructions for Apple Pay.
1.) To add a Spend Cloud Card to your phone, you need to use the Spend Cloud App. To add the Spend Cloud Card to the wallet on your Android phone, open the Spend Cloud App and, from the dashboard, select the card you want to use with Google Pay. Then click 'Add to Google Wallet.
You need to be registered as the liable card owner by the application administrator within your organization in Spend Cloud. If this has not been done, you will see a notification in the app indicating that it still needs to be done. Please contact the application administrator or financial administration at your employer or the organization from which you received the card to have this done.
Another way to navigate to the card settings is by clicking the menu in the lower-right corner and selecting 'Books.' Open the book to which the card is linked and click the purple 'Card Details' button.
2.) You will now see a screen with some additional information. Click the black button at the bottom to add the card to the wallet:
3.) You will be directed to the wallet on your phone. Your phone will walk you through the remaining steps to add the card, mainly by clicking 'Next.' The phone has already filled in the information for you (only a phone number needs to be entered). Review the terms and conditions and click 'Agree.' The card is now almost successfully added to your wallet, but one final step is required. You will now automatically receive an email with an activation code within a few minutes. Enter this code in the input field as the final step.
4.) After entering the activation code, the card will be successfully added and ready for use. In the Spend Cloud app, it will look like this:
Once the activation code is entered, you can use the card to make payments.
