Virtual Spend Cloud Cards

All the benefits of a Spend Cloud Card, but without plastic and distribution: that's our virtual cards in a nutshell. In this article, we'll explain what virtual Spend Cloud Cards are, how you can order them, and how you can make them visible in the Spend Cloud App for the appropriate user(s).

The virtual cards are not yet available for every customer. You will receive a notification from us once you can also order the cards!

What are virtual Spend Cloud Cards?

Virtual Spend Cloud Cards offer the same payment options you're accustomed to with our physical cards, but they are entirely digital and instantly available in the Spend Cloud App. These cards are not issued as physical cards, eliminating shipping and distribution costs. This allows for immediate activation and deactivation of cards, saving considerable time and enhancing logistical efficiency in pass management.

With the virtual Spend Cloud Cards, both online and physical payments can be made, just like with our physical Spend Cloud Cards.

This is how a virtual card looks in the Spend Cloud App for the user:

Online Payments

Virtual Spend Cloud Cards are digital versions of physical debit cards, including card number, expiration date, and CVC code. With these, you can make online payments just like with our physical cards. The acceptance rate for virtual cards at online stores is higher than that of physical cards. This is because virtual cards are only debit Mastercards, whereas physical cards combine both debit Maestro and Mastercards. Mastercards are better accepted by American companies like Google.

Physical Payments

Virtual Spend Cloud Cards are easy to use for physical payments. Currently, this is available for Apple users, who can pay in stores by adding the card to their phone's wallet and paying via Apple Pay. Soon, Google Pay will also be available for Android users in combination with virtual cards.

How to Order Virtual Cards?

You can order a virtual Spend Cloud Card just like physical cards by clicking on the 'Request new card' button in Application Management / Cash & Cards / Card Management. Then choose 'Mastercard Virtual'.

After ordering, the card is immediately visible in Application Management / Cash & Cards / Card Management. Associate the card with the correct card book as usual. The user, who is registered as the cardholder in their role and as the liable cardholder in the card settings, will then see the card in the Spend Cloud App and can use it.
