When you want to make an online payment as a card user with a Spend Cloud Card, you need to confirm the payment through the Spend Cloud app. This is an additional security measure. Before you can make online payments, you must activate online payment confirmation in the app for each card individually.
To set up online payment confirmation, go in the app to Books via the menu in the bottom-right corner. Open the book linked to the card and click the Card details button. Then click Activate online payments on this device.
Next, enter your phone’s passcode (note: this is your phone’s passcode, not the app’s passcode). If enabled, you can also use your fingerprint or facial recognition.
When you make an online credit or debit card payment, the webshop checks whether you are authorized to complete the payment. That is why you need to confirm the payment via the Spend Cloud app on your phone.
When completing an online payment, you must confirm it in the Spend Cloud app. You will receive a notification that an online payment is ready for confirmation. When you open the app, a pop-up screen will appear. It looks like this:
Confirm the payment here. Of course, you should only do this if you are actually the person making the payment. Never confirm anything you are not aware of. After confirmation, this is sent to the webshop, where your payment is completed.
It is important to check in your phone settings whether the Spend Cloud app is allowed to send notifications. Instructions for where to check this on an iPhone can be found here. For settings on most other phones, you can find instructions here.
In the Spend Cloud app, there is an option to test push notifications. Go to Settings and then Diagnostics. Click Test push notifications to check whether notifications are working. Click Reconfigure push notifications if they are not working properly.
If you are unable to get notifications working, ask an application administrator within your organization or a colleague to help you check it.
