Quickly and easily replace bunq passes with Spend Cloud Cards
We are gradually stopping supporting bunq cards within the Spend Cloud. Instead, we continue to work with Spend Cloud Cards: our own debit cards. From May 11, bunq cards can no longer be ordered. This article will help you replace bunq cards with new Spend Cloud Cards. We have made this as easy as possible, so that you can switch quickly and easily.
Please note: before you start
Make sure you have at least 1 active balance account with payment platform Adyen.This is arranged free of charge and on average within 1 to 2 working days. To do this, go to Application Management / Cash & Cards / Balance Accounts in the Spend Cloud. Only users with the right rights see this menu. Read Here what information you need to create a balance account.
Without a balance account, you cannot replace the bunq cards and order Spend Cloud Cards.
Replace existing bunq cards with Spend Cloud Cards
Step 1: Go to the card management and view the bunq cards you want to replace
Within Application Management / Cash & Card / Card Management you will find your bunq cards. To do this, make the following selection on the right side of the screen:
Status: Requested, Link, Active, Temporarily blocked:
Brand: bunq
You now have all the bunq cards in front of you that can replace with Spend Cloud Cards.
Step 2: Select and press the button 'Migre bunq cards' button
Select the cards you want to replace by ticking a checkmark on the left side of the card.
Please note: Some cards may not have a check box. This means that they are not eligible for replacement, for example because they have the status 'Definitively blocked'.
After selecting the correct bunq cards, click the 'Migreate bunq cards' button. If this button is grey and you can't click on it, it means that you haven't selected a suitable bunq cards yet. Then go back to step 1.
A pop-up screen is now displayed with steps:
1.) Complement data
Check the data carefully. For each card you can see:
- The card description (this is printed on the pass)
- The shipping address (where the new card is sent)
- The balance account (the account on the side of Adyen that is linked to the card)
Do you see a yellow warning framework? Then some cards mandatory information.
Cards with missing information are not included in the replacement. If you fit theseIf you want to replace it with Spend Cloud Cards, please note:
Missing cardbook
Any administration covered by a bunq card must have an (active) balance account with Adyen. Have you not created a balance account yet? Then that has to happen first.
Missing liable Card Owner
Click 'Not Assigned' within the pop-up to assign a liable card owner to the card immediately.
If there is 1 employee linked to the card, it will be automatically completed as a proposal for the liable card owner. This can still be changed. If several employees are linked to the card, we will show it within the pop-up, so that you can easily make a choice.
Click Next in the bottom right corner of the pop-up to continue. If the "Next" button is light blue, it means that none of your selected cards have all the required information. You must correct this first (see above in the yellow frame).
2.) Check the cost and confirm the order
You are now at Step 2:"Confirm". This screen shows what will happen and what the possible costs are. Click on 'Confirm order' at the bottom right. You can't go back after that.
Wait while the system processes your request. Do not close the window and don't click again on the button. If something goes wrong, you will see an error message. You can then try to confirm the order again.
Click on the button "Ready" to close the pop-up window. After closing, the pass management page will automatically renew to show the updated status of your cards.
What is happening now?
The Spend Cloud Cards have been ordered and will be shipped within 5 working days to the address specified.
The bunq card is automatically permanently blocked as soon as the corresponding Spend Cloud Card is activated.
The new pass gets a new PIN, which can be viewed by the user, provided he has the correct rights. See Here for More information.
Card limits and other bunq card settings are automatically transferred to the Spend Cloud Cards.
In the card management you recognize the bunq cards for which a replacement card is on its way on the green arrows on the left. If the Spend Cloud Card is inside, you can activate it by clicking on three dots at the relevant bunq card on the right can and then on 'Activate replacement card':

If you have the button"Migrate bunq cards"If you don't see, please contact your application administrator within your organization: you may need additional rights. The same goes for the "Balance Accounts" menu. Please note that this is not something that our support department can assign to you.
