Replace expired cards

The bunq cards are valid for four years, and the Spend Cloud Cards are valid for three years. When a card expires, you can request a replacement card for it via the Spend Cloud. By requesting a replacement card, you can keep all the information you have set up for the card. For example, the name, set limits and countries will be adopted on the new card. 

Notes
Please note: Once a card has expired, it cannot be replaced. In such cases, a completely new card will need to be requested.

Replace cards

If you want to replace one or more cards that are reaching their expiry date, go to Application management / Cash & Card / Card management. Then follow these steps to replace the cards:



  1. Click on 'Replace Expired Cards' above the overview.
  2. Then, you can select one or multiple cards by checking the box next to the card(s) you want to replace. The overview will display cards that are expiring within three months or earlier. This may include cards that have already expired. Cards for which you have already requested a replacement will not be shown in this overview.
  3. After selecting the cards you want to replace, click 'Replace Expired Cards' above the overview.
  4. New cards will now be sent to you.
  5. In case of bunq cards you need to click on Synchronize at the top of the card management section to make the replacement cards visible in the card management overview.


Receive new cards

When the new replacement cards arrive, they still have to be activated.
  1. Make sure the replacement card is associated with the correct book (this will be done automatically).  
  2. Activate the new card.
    1. For a Spend Cloud Card, you can do this via Card Management. Go to Application Management / Cash & Card / Card Management, click on the three dots next to the card, and then select Activate Replacement Card. Cardholders can also activate their own replacement cards.
    2. Read here how to activate a replacement bunq card. Be aware that you need to set a new PIN for bunq replacement cards. The employee to whom the pass is distributed can also set this himself if they have sufficient rights for this.
  3. Dispose of your expire card. Cut it in pieces with a pair of scissors and throw the pieces in the thrash.
